Take a zip wire to nami island!

I went to Nami Island on 28 Oct 2014, Tuesday, the weather that day was actually quite cold.
Firstly, take a subway (or ITX) to gapyeong station (as seen in the  yellow highlight).
After alighting at Gapyeong station, walk out of the exit and you will see the "Tourist Information" booth outside. The shuttle bus stop to Nami Island (petite france etc) are located infront of the tourist information booth.

These are the timings for the buses. A bus ticket is required and it costs 5000 won for the whole day. You will purchase the ticket from the bus driver when you board the bus.
*Note: keep the ticket as you will need it when you board the bus again.

After alighting at the nami island bus stop, you will be able to see the ticket entrance etc to nami island. Proceed to ticket entrance to buy your ferry ticket or take a zip wire (aka flying fox) to nami island.
Look at the horrible long queue by ferry T_T
Price of taking a ferry: 8000won (if i am not wrong)
Taking a zip wire takes less than 3 minutes and you can reach nami island.
Price: 38000 won (inclusive of a one time zip wire to nami island and a ferry back from nami island)

Before flying down ~

After landing in nami island via zip wire, they will ask you if you wish to purchase a photo of yourself taking the zip wire. Price: 10000 won for a A4 size photo. (remember to smile before landing if you want to buy)

There are many restaurants in Nami Island for you to have your meal. However, the food are more costly. If i did not remember wrongly, one of the cheapest food i seen at the restaurant is some ramen (yes instant noodles) for 5000 won.

At the end, i went to an Asian restaurant that serves "thai" food etc.
 the interior of the restaurant

My thai style fried rice (8800 won). okay dont get fool. They have nasi goreng as well and it is almost the same as the thai rice above. The meat are all the same just that the flavour of the rice is different. Soda cost 1000 won in case you are interested.

This snowman is located right outside of the restaurant!

Time to take a ferry back from nami island. Take note of the time to go back. if you go back at peak hours, please bear in mind of the horrible long queue..
i went on a weekday and the queue is really horrible.. cant imagine the queue on weekends..
Thankfully, They have quite a few ferry and one ferry can take quite a number of people, so, the queue was actually moving quite fast..

Tips:
- nami island have bicycle rental as well. but they are more costly though.
- the scenery is really beautiful, good for taking photos. i saw a few couples taking wedding shots there as well.
- take a zip wire to nami island if the queue for ferry is VERY LONG. Even though is expensive, at least you save time to queue and get to experience something. (min. weight to take a zip wire to nami island is 45kg and max. is 100kg).
the lighter you are, the slower your zip will go..
- plan your time well if you intend to go petite france after nami island. i spent 5h at nami island and there is no time for me to go petite france.

    1. Hi Sophia, I am so sorry for reading your comment now!

How was your trip at Nami? Did you spent a long time there as well? :)

The 5 hours includes the waiting time and of course going around to take photograph.

  2. Did you have to pay an additional 8000 won to take the ferry back?

  3. Hi, would like to ask. Did you buy your zip wire ticket via online or on the day? If is from online. May I know which website you bought it? If you bought the ticket on the day you going to Nami island. Is the queue will be so long? And is there limited time to visit nami island by zip wire?

  4. Hi! I bought the ticket on the day itself. Yes, I have to wait about an hour before it's my turn to go up the zip.
